Glossy Box January Product Review...

Evening ladies,

I am a bit late receiving the product as I was unable to collect my parcel from my neighbors, however I finally have my hands on it! This is my first box from Glossy Box after hearing amazing reviews over the Christmas, I decided It's one of the best ideas if you want to find new products!

I was more than overwhelmed about what I received. I am on a 6-month contract, I would have done the yearly and paid all at once, but with Christmas just gone I really couldn't afford to. So I'll get straight to the point now with you all & I've sectioned everything off for you so it's easier for you to find what interests you the most!

Enjoy girls,

It comes in an rectangle-sized box and is really quite pretty in pink! It looks quite expensive to be fair.

So when you open the box, it's loosely tied in the corner but I quickly stopped I thought - I have to get pictures for my reviews! So I am sorry it's not tied nicely like I have described!

Three of the things I was greeted with firstly were placed above the pink tissue paper. I got a very nice gift voucher for 'Hello Fresh' which will go down a treat! I also then found a welcome card. Describing the products that were in my box and if i love them - where to buy the full thing! I can most definitely say I am more than pleased with everything I received. I have not took individual pictures of the products as my camera died so I will list them as I find them online now for you.

P.s everything under the pink tissue paper is covered with a black type of confetti (I think it's black tissue paper to be honest, but It's designed in a way of confetti). I just love the effort they put into the boxes.

Kueshi natural & pleasant cosmetics revitalizing face toner

We all know what our face is terribly faced with throughout winter. It's a daily roundabout for a long time from freezing cold temperatures outside to ramped up heaters and radiators. You skin loses moisture and doesn't look as radiant! That's where Kueshi comes in and soothes your face before you leave the house and returning home from work or school. The soothing blend of chamomile, aloe vera and calendula will also help calm redness and reduce sensitivity. I have never heard of this product simply because it's not English I don't think. What I do know is that I tend to avoid toners because in winter I don't feel like you need them - they are too harsh on the skin most of them, not doing any favors for sensitive skin! However I have tried this for the past 3 days and I love the gentle smell it gives off, the calm feeling it leaves on the skin and how plump my skin is! I also deal with redness and sensitivity but since I've changed my make-up and invested in Clinique, I have seen a lot less skin troubles.

You can get it here off Ebay.

Nicka K New York Colorlux Powder Brush

This is the cutest little pot of powder I have ever seen. It's super easy to use from the blend-able mineral powder to the 'suits-all-shades'. It comes with an integrated power puff applicator that means less mess as well as a perkier complexion! The goal of this box is whilst it's winter - if you can't beat those skin troubles and you're feeling a little less confident, then these products will definitely help keep you fresh faced. I love the color, I love how you're also unable to use loads at a time and that it's build-able - some people may prefer to use a blusher brush which is understandable for more control but if you just want a pop of color, then this is ideal! You can also get this in 6 different shades!

You can get it here off Nicka K NewYork.

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm in

Superfruits

I have been applying this all day in work. I have been suffering with really dry lips and I hate that because then my lip liner and lipstick looks rubbish, until I was introduced to this little tube of goodness.

It is said that it's 97% organic & 100% Natural consisting of the super food berry group. I think anything that's fruity tasting on my lips can be quite sickly i.e. strawberry flavored. However this balm doesn't taste like berries - it tastes more like bananas & vanilla. That's the worst combination of flavor and scent for me since I hate vanilla. On the other hand though, my lips feel very plump and healthy! I can get over the taste knowing it's 100% natural makes me feel happy it's not consisted of animal cruelty.

It's saying online the product is no longer available - I hope not!

MeMeMe Eye Line Pencil in Clay

This from the reviews I have read so far is a great water-liner. Something I always struggle to find as It's impossible to wear liquid eyeliner on the bottom of my eyes as in winter It's going to end up all over my eyeball or the scary panda eye look. I also love that it's not black because a little tip for you - if you want to give your eyes the appearance of looking bigger, applying a brown eyeliner to your inner eye followed with a wing on the top lash can really transform your eyes in five minutes!
You can get it here off  MeMeMe.

Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow

This product when coming out of the bottle looks quite glittery, but when applied to the face it really does not give that effect! This is the first highlighter I have actually used. I am impressed. When dabbed onto my cheekbones this morning & under my brow arch - I felt my skin instantly had that glow! I also checked in work, it survived the gale force winds & didn't look glittery or sparkly. It has infact a lovely, sheer finish however I think you'll be needing a few touch ups in the day as it got me til dinner so a good 5 hours - still good for light highlighting!
You can get it here off  Jelly pong pong cosmetics.

The last thing listed was the very generous £25 gift voucher for Hello Fresh. I am more than satisfied with my little box of goodies. I think it's so important to not always go for the products that get promoted to death. It's always good to find new products & give them a chance! I hope you have enjoyed my review!

Please feel free to share your thoughts, comments and problems as well - I am always more than delighted to engage conversation!

Happy Blogging,

Beginners guide to applying False Eyelashes

Good afternoon bloggers,

So Halloween has just slipped away and I must say I have seen some tutorials and make-up looks that words simply cannot describe! However, I have never applied eye lashes before not even for a night out as I never really have felt the need too. However I went out as a kitty cat on Friday night and I had the 'winged eyeliner and lashes' going on! From watching endless beauty tutorials, I was able too remember key tips which I have learnt and practiced. I am going too show you in easy detail how too successfully apply eyelashes - no tricky equipment, just simple hands or tweezer application if you wish.

  1. I would recommend you apply any eye liner or eye shadow first simply because depending on the eyelash length - it will be a little tricky too apply those afterwards. Once you have a basic guide way of eye liner - you can easily disguise any gaps with more eyeliner. Always leave the lashes bare though until the lashes are applied, after applying the eye lashes - then blend your own eye lashes with the false ones.
  2. Make sure before you put glue onto the lashes that you measure them with your own eyes. Sometimes you will find their too long at the end so simply just snip bit by bit off at the end until they meet your desired length. Secondly, always make sure the eyelash is placed on the closest eye lash too your nose, as you're going too be cutting away the outer lashes and I say bit by bit because you don't want too cut too much off - work on them bit by bit.
  3. Once you have followed these two prep & prime steps what I would call them.. apply the glue too your false lashes. I recommend applying the glue first too the lashes and leaving them for 20-30 seconds so the glue is very sticky on the lashes. This is because I have noticed that when applying the glue and then straight away applying them that I can never get them too stick on and before you know it - you have ruined your eye-makeup! Yet everyone is too their own.
  4. Try and measure the lashes to your own before applying them because if you have set the glue it will be tricky to adjust them once they have been applied and you will end up with glue on your lashes and we don't want that!
  5. Hold the lashes even though they're sticky. Yes, they do have more chance of applying faster than applying them straight away - but they still need to be placed carefully.
  6. Once you feel as if the lashes are comfortable in their places - I like to use a cotton bud or a tweezer too use the skin on my eyeball too gently press down on the eye lashes. Not too harshly because you will knock the lashes off. This just helps the skin blend in more with the lashes and I feel as if it worked great for me!
  7. More than usual for beginners its extremely frustrating at the beginning maybe and even for professionals because it's a bummer when you do all the eye prep and you only need one shaky hand too have that all ruined! Yet applying false eyelashes is incredibly fun I love all the quirky and crazy ones you can get these days and I would definitely consider wearing them more on nights out because they just enhance your eyes and they do look amazing!

Too the left is my first attempt following all the tips and steps above. The right eye looks as if it's lost half the eyelash, but that was just the thickness of my eyeliner. This is extremely simple. I was pretty disappointed in my poor make-up for Halloween, however I have learnt some amazing skills and I hope to do better Christmas makeup!
