Glossy Box February edition! Detailed review

Glossy Box February edition! Detailed review

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog! Today I will be taking you through the Glossy Box February edition and doing a detailed review for anyone who's interested in trying out a beauty box but isn't sure about: which box, cost, certain products and their quality. This is Glossy Box's LOVE box which includes four full sized products featuring an exciting product which was inspired by 50 Shades of Grey! (It's not what you're thinking)

It's important to do your research before subscribing to a beauty box and it's also good to watch and read other reviews on different boxes. I chose Glossy Box because there a worldwide known brand to bloggers especially & also because I was able to let them know what products I would find best suitable.

I pay around £13 a month for mine (including VAT and delivery) and I wasn't impressed with the January edition in the end because the products did not live up to any expectations (especially the highlighter) However, these products I am very impressed with so far so good, keep reading...

As you can see, the boxes are always beautifully wrapped with ribbon and a welcome card explaining what is in your box and where you can buy the full one if you like the product.

Essie - Repstyle Polish

First I will start off with my favorite product so far and that is the Essie nail polish which you will see below. Whenever I wear nail polish I hate three things:
  • Nail polish that does not dry quick enough.
  • Nail polish that chips very easily.
  • Nail polish that requires more than one coating.
So when I received this nail polish I was hesitant but I have heard great things about it & it honestly lived up to them. The application was a breath of fresh air, very easy to apply and has a lovely finish. By the time I finished one hand and went to do the other, the previous hand was dry completely.

I was definitely shocked because I have never had this result before. I went to work on Saturday and I work with a lot of chemicals and water there so it was a good time to try the product out to the full. The nail polish did chip but only slightly, the very tips of the nails was where I lost the color.

Another test was applying another coat to just touch up my nails - the nail polish didn't show up in a different color, it covered the same and they looked freshly done once again. I would definitely recommend this nail polish and I will get different colors for Summer!
(ignore the pink that's from the box behind.)
(£9.99 for 13ml)

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow - Fifty Shades

My second favorite product is the Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow. I have direct linked you there to the website and to the eye shadow that was in the box. 50 shades of grey is the name of the eye shadow which I love as it's inspired by one of my favorite films!

50 shades of grey eye shadow is a "mineral powder-based eye shadow and is 100% natural and highly pigmented so it packs a punch". That was the description when I opened the box, and I can say yes, yes & yes!!

However If I didn't write honestly you'd be disappointed if I beefed everything up all the time, and this sadly does have a down fall. The pot lid unscrews and it it has holes in the middle where this got very messy the first time I applied the eye shadow.

The second thing I noticed was this eye shadow is definitely a blender because a little seriously goes a long way. It does look grey as well, but when reflected on the light, both three times I have had it on and noticed it actually looks like a very dark blue but I love it so no complaining for me!

Over to the impressions though, the eye shadow was worth the little mess (I would just say do not attempt to apply the eye shadow on moving transport!) ... I have never had an eye shadow that has set so gorgeous before. It really brought my blue eyes out as I blended it with a white eye shadow and outwards with the 50 shades of grey color.

The eye shadow stayed in place my whole night out and did not lose it's color!
(£14.49 for 1.2g)

Royal Apothic - Tinties

This new brand from the block were discovered by Glossy Box in Los Angeles. The company is inspired by an old apothecary manual and it's rumored to be a celebrity favor with the likes of  Victoria Beckham!?

I am never the one to just buy something because somebody famous has it - but we all know that our Vic is quite the perfectionist and if obviously she was using this.. of course you would think it's worth the purchase!

This stuff makes my skin feel like a baby's bottom, it also doesn't have an over facing application or a funny smell to it. I have religiously stuck to my Palmer's cocoa butter lip balm all winter because it's not only one of the gods on the market for lip care but nothing else has worked. Therefore I carried my Palmer's lip balm just in case this Tinties would not work but it did! I didn't feel my lips were dry and even when I had walked to work 30 minutes later, the balm still felt soft and freshly applied to my lips. So yes, I definitely recommend and this was my third favorite product.
(Glossy Box says: These pretty pots contain Shea butter and a trio of oils: argan, grape seed & almond to nourish the lips.)
($14 for 3.4g)

So Susan - Rose Quartet Lip & Cheek Palette

This is such a cute little set consisting of an lip and cheek palette! The color combination is pretty pinks and bold crimson matching whatever mood you are in.

I would buy this again especially because the Pink really suits my facial features and having dark hair as it is I never knew if I would pull pink off, however a bigger set is needed to get the most love out of this product because it's just so tiny! You also get a small lip liner brush (but you'll probably have better tools for the perfecting of Kylie Jenner's lips)
(Glossy Box says: Match lips and cheeks for a uniform polish or be brave and clash red lips with fuchsia cheeks.)
£8 for 4g

This Hydro Silk is my favorite thing in the bathroom right now! I have used female razors all my life but they have never lasted or they have gone missing. I then once tried my brothers razor on my legs and wow.. I'm struggling for words! It was so amazing and I thought to myself "I am going to buy a mans's razor instead!" - So I've been with Gillette for men the past year.

On the other hand, I am so so so happy that I now have the female version of Gillette. I hate it when in the past I have rushed shaving in the shower and especially regretted it before doing my fake tan on a night out because I would always have red bumps afterwards or razor blade 'scratch marks' etc... I have not had a problem now with more care, a bit of moisturiser and a nice razor, I am very happy with this and I would definitely say that since Spring & Summer is approaching in the UK that ladies, you do invest in a good razor because they're going to last you longer than the 40p Asda's own for 10 of them, when you can pay less than £10 for good quality and nicer looking legs!

(Glossy Box says: shave legs at the end of a shower to allow time for the water to soften stubble and open hair follicles for a smoother shave.)
(£9.99 for 80g)

That is the end girls, Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I hope I have helped you gain an insight on whether you was wanting to try Glossy Box or you found a product and I have helped you out a little.

Please feel free to share your thoughts, comments and problems as well - I am always more than delighted to engage conversation!

Happy Blogging,

Glossy Box January Product Review...

Evening ladies,

I am a bit late receiving the product as I was unable to collect my parcel from my neighbors, however I finally have my hands on it! This is my first box from Glossy Box after hearing amazing reviews over the Christmas, I decided It's one of the best ideas if you want to find new products!

I was more than overwhelmed about what I received. I am on a 6-month contract, I would have done the yearly and paid all at once, but with Christmas just gone I really couldn't afford to. So I'll get straight to the point now with you all & I've sectioned everything off for you so it's easier for you to find what interests you the most!

Enjoy girls,

It comes in an rectangle-sized box and is really quite pretty in pink! It looks quite expensive to be fair.

So when you open the box, it's loosely tied in the corner but I quickly stopped I thought - I have to get pictures for my reviews! So I am sorry it's not tied nicely like I have described!

Three of the things I was greeted with firstly were placed above the pink tissue paper. I got a very nice gift voucher for 'Hello Fresh' which will go down a treat! I also then found a welcome card. Describing the products that were in my box and if i love them - where to buy the full thing! I can most definitely say I am more than pleased with everything I received. I have not took individual pictures of the products as my camera died so I will list them as I find them online now for you.

P.s everything under the pink tissue paper is covered with a black type of confetti (I think it's black tissue paper to be honest, but It's designed in a way of confetti). I just love the effort they put into the boxes.

Kueshi natural & pleasant cosmetics revitalizing face toner

We all know what our face is terribly faced with throughout winter. It's a daily roundabout for a long time from freezing cold temperatures outside to ramped up heaters and radiators. You skin loses moisture and doesn't look as radiant! That's where Kueshi comes in and soothes your face before you leave the house and returning home from work or school. The soothing blend of chamomile, aloe vera and calendula will also help calm redness and reduce sensitivity. I have never heard of this product simply because it's not English I don't think. What I do know is that I tend to avoid toners because in winter I don't feel like you need them - they are too harsh on the skin most of them, not doing any favors for sensitive skin! However I have tried this for the past 3 days and I love the gentle smell it gives off, the calm feeling it leaves on the skin and how plump my skin is! I also deal with redness and sensitivity but since I've changed my make-up and invested in Clinique, I have seen a lot less skin troubles.

You can get it here off Ebay.

Nicka K New York Colorlux Powder Brush

This is the cutest little pot of powder I have ever seen. It's super easy to use from the blend-able mineral powder to the 'suits-all-shades'. It comes with an integrated power puff applicator that means less mess as well as a perkier complexion! The goal of this box is whilst it's winter - if you can't beat those skin troubles and you're feeling a little less confident, then these products will definitely help keep you fresh faced. I love the color, I love how you're also unable to use loads at a time and that it's build-able - some people may prefer to use a blusher brush which is understandable for more control but if you just want a pop of color, then this is ideal! You can also get this in 6 different shades!

You can get it here off Nicka K NewYork.

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm in

Superfruits

I have been applying this all day in work. I have been suffering with really dry lips and I hate that because then my lip liner and lipstick looks rubbish, until I was introduced to this little tube of goodness.

It is said that it's 97% organic & 100% Natural consisting of the super food berry group. I think anything that's fruity tasting on my lips can be quite sickly i.e. strawberry flavored. However this balm doesn't taste like berries - it tastes more like bananas & vanilla. That's the worst combination of flavor and scent for me since I hate vanilla. On the other hand though, my lips feel very plump and healthy! I can get over the taste knowing it's 100% natural makes me feel happy it's not consisted of animal cruelty.

It's saying online the product is no longer available - I hope not!

MeMeMe Eye Line Pencil in Clay

This from the reviews I have read so far is a great water-liner. Something I always struggle to find as It's impossible to wear liquid eyeliner on the bottom of my eyes as in winter It's going to end up all over my eyeball or the scary panda eye look. I also love that it's not black because a little tip for you - if you want to give your eyes the appearance of looking bigger, applying a brown eyeliner to your inner eye followed with a wing on the top lash can really transform your eyes in five minutes!
You can get it here off  MeMeMe.

Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow

This product when coming out of the bottle looks quite glittery, but when applied to the face it really does not give that effect! This is the first highlighter I have actually used. I am impressed. When dabbed onto my cheekbones this morning & under my brow arch - I felt my skin instantly had that glow! I also checked in work, it survived the gale force winds & didn't look glittery or sparkly. It has infact a lovely, sheer finish however I think you'll be needing a few touch ups in the day as it got me til dinner so a good 5 hours - still good for light highlighting!
You can get it here off  Jelly pong pong cosmetics.

The last thing listed was the very generous £25 gift voucher for Hello Fresh. I am more than satisfied with my little box of goodies. I think it's so important to not always go for the products that get promoted to death. It's always good to find new products & give them a chance! I hope you have enjoyed my review!
